Jeena Lee

Jeena Lee graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor in Business Administration, specifically with a Management Information Systems (MIS) degree. She was heavily involved with the Asian Business Students Association (freshman – senior year) leading up to Presidency during 2007-2008 and Project Manager for the Undergraduate Career Committee for the McCombs Business School. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas and is currently working for Chevron in Houston, TX in her 2nd position as a Scrum Master for the Upstream Workflow Transformation Common Solutions Support Team. She’s also involved in Chevron’s Asian Employee Network’s Steering Committee and co-leads the Horizons IT Community Involvement Committee. Besides her company involvement, Jeena is involved with her Access spiritual community and Junior Achievement. Her hobbies include running, tennis, cycling, volleyball, playing guitar, community service activities, and christian fellowship.

Her three key aspirations for Texas Exes Asian Network are to:

• Build a strong community of Asian Alumni within the 4 major cities of Texas (primary focus on Houston)
• Develop and involve our younger generation to take on leadership positions for the Texas Exes Asian chapter to become self sustaining
• Build a strong presence within Texas Exes and increase involvement of Asian Alumni to donate financially to fund our scholarships, events, endowments

Kevin Alviar

Kevin Alviar graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors in Human Development & Family Sciences with a pre-medical concentration. As an undergraduate he participated in the building of the Asian American community at UT through APAC’s Asian American Round Table initiative, put together a medical trip to Nigeria, and became a 2008 Dell Social Innovation National Semi-finalist placing in the top 48 out of 1200+ with co-founder Dane Hurtubise & Rupesh Shah. Currently Kevin is at St. George’s University in a combined MD/MPH program with an emphasis on Healthy Behavior & Policy, Tropical medicine, and is pursuing a capstone project that combines micro-finance with Poverty Alleviation, Education, and Healthcare as a result of his experiences in Nigeria. In his free time Kevin likes to compose Jazz music on the piano.

His goals for the Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network are

• Increase the amount of opportunities available for Asian students at The University of Texas at Austin by connecting them to successful alumni
• Enhance the reputation of The University of Texas at Austin both nationally and worldwide by highlighting successful undergraduates and alumni
• Provide the support necessary to create the next generation of global leaders among the Asian population at The University of Texas at Austin

Gee-Wey Yue

Gee-Wey Yue

Gee-Wey Yue received his Bachelor in Business Administration in Finance in 2009. As an undergraduate, he worked to promote cohesion in the Asian American community in leadership positions under the Vietnamese Students Association and Student Government. Gee-Wey currently is a sales manager at Macy’s, coaching and inspiring his sales professionals to create a customer-friendly shopping atmosphere. His goals for the Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network include:

• Creating a sustainable organization where leaders come together naturally, united by passion and vision
• Holding nationally acclaimed events through a collaborative community effort
• Building opportunities for future Asian American leaders. In his free time, Gee-Wey enjoys the company of his friends!

Dane Hurtubise

Dane Hurtubise

Dane Hurtubise graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. At UT, Dane was passionately involved in many student organizations including a role as president of the Vietnamese Students Association and membership in Texas Ventures, Toastmasters International and the Boy Scouts of America. Along with his engagement in student organizations, Dane also participated in the 2008 Dell Social Innovation Competition where his team, including co-founders Kevin Alviar & Rupesh Shah, finished as National Semi-Finalists placing in the top 48 of over 1200 teams. Six months after graduation, Dane co-founded the technology company JobSpice in Mountain View, CA and received funding by the prestigious venture firm, Y Combinator. The company has since expanded, become profitable and relocated back to Austin where Dane is acting CEO. His hobbies include reading, working out and drawing.

His three key aspirations for Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network are to:

• Create a self sustaining model for Texas Exes for future generations of alumni
• Better connect Asian organizations on campus and also to their alumni
• Fund scholarships and endowments for exceptional students and faculty

Jennifer Wang

Jennifer Wang

Jennifer Wang graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 2009. As an undergraduate, she participated heavily in Asian American progressive initiatives as President of the Vietnamese Student Association and as Executive Board Member of the Pan-Asian American Network, formerly known as Asian American Round Table. Currently, Jennifer is a Special Events Coordinator at The University of Texas at Austin, serving as the student and Asian American liaison for the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. She is working to receive her Masters in Higher Education Administration in 2012.

Her goals for the Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network include:

• Creating a more visible Asian community on campus and in the Austin area.
• Promoting academic excellence and leadership development in Asian students of The University of Texas at Austin through a mentorship program
• Developing an administration at The University of Texas at Austin more representative of the Asian student population.

Marvin Liang

Marvin Liang

Marvin Liang graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in the Plan II Honors Program and a minor in Biology in 2007. While at UT, he was a director with the Events Co-Sponsorship Committee of the Texas Union Student Events Center, served on the Editorial Board of the Undergraduate Research Journal, and was Co-President of the Plan II Pre-Law Society. After graduating, Marvin earned his Juris Doctor from SMU Dedman School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the SMU Science & Technology Law Review and President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA).

Marvin is currently an Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington, DC. He is actively involved with the International Law Committee of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).

His goals for the Texas Exes Asian Alumni Network are:

• Attracting talented individuals from around the country to attend UT Austin
• Connecting alumni based abroad with students interested in an international career
• Creating programs that develop and train students to become worldwide leaders in government and industry
