You may have heard that the documentary “Linsanity” – about the rise of Asian American NBA star Jeremy Lin—is being released in select cities this month. An Austin screening of the documentary has been scheduled for Thursday, October 17 at 7:30-9:00pm. AMC Barton Creek Square 14. But in order to make this screening a reality, we need to sell just a few more tickets.
The film is being promoted through Tugg—a website that brings films to certain cities so long as enough people buy tickets for that film in advance. The ticket threshold needed to guarantee the October 17 screening is 73; the deadline is this Thursday. So far, 67 tickets have been sold.
That’s right –-we need to sell 6 more tickets in the next two days, and it’s on. What’s more, if we sell tickets way beyond the threshold—better yet if we sell out the theater—then this may encourage the distributor to release the film in Austin for a longer theatrical run.
