The Senior Director will report to the Vice President of Growth Strategy and Development for Teach For All.

Team Overview

Teach For All is a global network of independent social enterprises adapting the model established by Teach For America and Teach First (U.K.) to their local contexts. These organizations address educational need by enlisting their nations’ most promising future leaders, in the short-term, to commit to teaching in high-need areas for two years, and, in the long-term, to drive systemic changes from within and outside of the education sector. Teach For All’s mission is to increase and accelerate the impact of these organizations by providing direct support services and by fostering a powerful network among them in order to maximize their scale, impact on student achievement and alumni leadership, and their organizational strength.

Teach For All’s Growth Strategy & Development team manages the relationship between social entrepreneurs aspiring to launch local organizations and Teach For All’s global network from the time an entrepreneur initiates contact with Teach For All until his/her local organization has developed a final business plan. During the early stage process, the Growth Strategy & Development team assesses alignment between the mission of the local organization and the resources of the network, facilitates the local organization’s development of a strategic business plan and partners with the social entrepreneur who is leading the local organization to identify and secure financial resources for Teach For All’s support of the new organization. In addition to supporting social entrepreneurs in the early stages of developing their program, Teach For All’s Growth Strategy & Development team is also responsible for raising the funds needed to cover the expenses of Teach For All’s support of these new local organizations. To fuel the network’s anticipated growth, Teach For All’s Growth Strategy and Development team needs to raise approximately $14.8 million in 2011 and $16 million in 2012.

About Teach For All

Teach For All is a global network of independent social enterprises that promote educational opportunity by enlisting their nations’ future leaders to teach for two years in their highest-need communities and become lifelong leaders for educational excellence and equity. The network’s potential is evident in the impact of its founding members, Teach For America in the United States and Teach First in the United Kingdom. Both programs have demonstrated a significant impact on student achievement outcomes and educational reform in their countries, propelling changes that have improved students’ opportunities for success, particularly for those who have been historically underserved. The early successes of new programs in other countries around the world – from Peru to Lebanon to India and China – indicate that the model can be successfully adapted to other contexts. Teach For All’s mission is to expand educational opportunity internationally by increasing and accelerating the impact of the partnering social enterprises in our network. We achieve this by providing direct support services and fostering a powerful network among the enterprises and their participants, with the goal of maximizing the organizations’ scale, impact on student achievement and alumni leadership, and organizational strength. Based on growing interest worldwide, we anticipate the network could include 50 organizations by 2015.
